What Applications use HYDRAULIC HEATERS?
The following applications use Hydraulic Heaters:
- Fluid Power
- Hydraulics
- Compressors
- Custom Machinery
- Turbines and Bearings
- Fluids Requiring Low Watt Density Heating
Hydraulic heaters are tubular elements usually designed from 0.5 KW to 12 KW for mounting via 2”, 2 ½” and 3” NPT screw plugs as well as our convenient 4 ½” O.D. Flange (“A/B”) mount. They are used to maintain a static hydraulic tank or reservoir, with a known volume of hydraulic or lube oil, at a desired operating temperature
How do you size HYDRAULIC HEATERS?
HYDRAULIC HEATERS are sized by using the following information:
- Volume to be heated
- Dimensions and capacity of tank/reservoir
- Thickness of insulation on tank/reservoir (if any)
- Temperature to maintain, worst case ambient temperature and desired heat-up time if tank is allowed to cool during non-operating periods
- Available operating Voltage & Phase
- Environmental operating conditions to select the proper terminal enclosure
- Desired temperature controls (available with or without thermostat, thermocouple, or over-temperature cut out devices
HYDRAULIC HEATERS are used by the following industries:
- Construction
- Mining
- Wind Generation
- Fluid Power
How long does is delivery for HYDRAULIC HEATERS?
HYDRAULIC HEATERS can usually be shipped in one to two weeks if parts are in stock. If parts are not in stock, it can take up to six weeks to ship.
How are HYDRAULIC HEATERS INSTALLED?
HYDRAULIC HEATERS are installed horizontally near the bottom of the tank or reservoir. (See Installation, Operation and Maintenance Instructions for Electric Immersion Heaters)
What is the Quality Policy and Warranty on HYDRAULIC HEATERS?
Warren Electric Corporation Heaters must pass vigorous inspections prior to shipment. Each individual heating element is checked for electrical leakage and breakdown at high voltage before assembly.
All heaters are 100% hydrostatically pressure tested to insure braze or wells attaching the element to the flange is free of all leaks. We also electrically test 100% of our heaters to ensure they meet the wattage/voltage specifications of the order. 100% of our heaters are also subject to testing for moisture content and hipot testing.
Every heater that Warren Electric Corporation has ever manufactured is identified with a serial number prior to shipment. These serial numbers are kept on file indefinitely and can be used to identify back to the original inspection sheet and purchase order.
Warranty is 15 months from the date of shipment provided heater failure is not caused by operator error.
Are there any special certifications available for HYDRAULIC HEATERS?
HYDRAULIC HEATERS have third party certifications and inspections available for including UL and ISO. ASME “U” and “UM” Certifications are available for heater casings.
How do you clean HYDRAULIC HEATERS?
HYDRAULIC HEATERS should be checked on a regular basis for build up on the elements. If you notice build up of oil (called coking) burned onto the elements, soak the heater elements only in kerosene to break down the coke and then use a wire brush to remove the excess build up if necessary. Due to the low watt density of the “HL” Series heaters, coking is usually not a problem.
